Frank Baker

Mr. Frank L. Baker, 93, of Frederick , MD died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his home.

Born September 6, 1924 in Middletown, MD he was the son of the late Frank L. and Wilhelmina B. (Castle) Baker.

He was the husband of the late Jacqueline Keller Baker who predeceased him in December 1994. They were married 42 years. He was a 1941 graduate of Middletown High School. A veteran of WWII he served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1989 with 43 years of Federal service. His services were recognized by the Department of the Army honoring him with the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal in 1969 and with numerous other awards for his outstanding program accomplishments in security management. He was a charter member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club, life member of the American Legion, life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. During his retirement years he spent time enjoying smallmouth bass fishing, traveling and family activities.

Mr. Baker was the last of his immediate family being preceded in death by his sister Mary House and two brothers Edgar Baker and Paul Baker.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Baker, of Frederick, MD, a son, Steven Baker of Frederick, MD; granddaughter, Stephani Stockman and her husband Charles Stockman, great granchildren, Jaxon Lewis Stockman and Jacqueline Louise Stockman of Frederick, MD and a number of nephews and nieces.

He will be remembered by longtime loving and devoted companion Doris Lare.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2-5PM A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26 at 2PM.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 E. Church St. Frederick, MD or the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3864 Jefferson Pike, MD.
