Frank Abrecht, Sr.

Mr. Frank M. Abrecht Sr., 85, of Frederick, Md, went home to be with our lord Thursday, July 21, 2011 at North Hampton Manor, Frederick. He was preceded in death by 1 ^st wife; Mary Hough Abrecht on August 3, 1968 and 2 ^nd wife; Elizabeth Jacobs Abrecht on February 26, 2002.

Born February 6, 1926, in Frederick, he was a son of the late Clyde and Wilmoth (Adams) Abrecht. Mr. Abrecht was preceded in death by two daughters; Barbara and Kristie Abrecht, three brothers; Clyde Jr, James “Brother” and Gene Abrecht, six sisters; Mary Shankle, Ruth Ruthvin, Dorothy “Dottie” Sensenig, Winifred “Winnie” Morgan, Kittie and Nellie Abrecht all of Frederick.

Frank is survived by one brother; Douglas “ Butchie” and wife Caroline of Frederick, sons; Frank Jr. and wife Linda, Thomas and wife June, Ronald and wife Cathy all of Mt Pleasant, Keith and wife Quincy of Boonesboro, Terry and wife Judy of Silver Spring and daughter Debra Jacobs of Chambersburg, numerous grand-children and great grand-children. He is also remembered by special sister in law Libby Abrecht of Hagerstown.

He was a WWII veteran serving in the European theater with the 116 ^th US Army Air Corp.

He was a lifelong professional and volunteer firefighter in Frederick community and retired from Fort Detrick as a Fire Dept Captain and Station Chief after 34 years of dedicated service and was also a life member of Independent Hose Company.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 ^th at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, July 25 ^th with Pastor Ernest Knight, will officiate.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
