Francis (Frank) Day

Francis "Frank" Edgar Day, 69, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 22, 1951, in Olney, MD, he was the son of the late Jesse  Day and Mabel  (Ricketts) Day.
He was the loving husband of Vivian "Sissy" Irene Day his wife of 49 years.
Frank served proudly in the United States Army.  He was an avid Redskin, Terp's and Oriole's fan.  His love of golf took him on many adventures and he made many life long friends.  He especially enjoyed his annual trips to Lexington, Kentucky playing golf and attending the Kentucky Derby.
In addition of his wife he is survived by his children Danny Wayne Day and wife, Shannon, Dawn Day Bennett and husband, Donnie,  Donna Day Ridgley and husband, John; grandchildren, Heather, Mathew, Savannah, Brooke, Bailey, Jesse, Cody, Chase, A.J. and Britney; great granddaughter, Skylar.  He is also survived by 5 brothers, 2 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Frank the family is requesting to wear your favorite Redskin attire.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD. 21771.
A celebration of Francis's life will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road Monrovia, MD. Military honors will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Mount Airy, MD.
