Mr. Francis D. Tarleton, Sr., 78 of Frederick, MD passed away on Monday, January 9th, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Doris M. Tarleton. His wife of 58 years.
Born May 8, 1933 in Drayden, MD he was the son of the late Malcolm and Mary Tarleton.
Francis retired as a General Foreman from Eastalco 19 years ago.
He loved spending time with is family. He enjoyed their family vacations and spoiling his grandchildren. He also loved crabbing and being on his boat. He enjoyed reading, bowling and playing shuffle board.
In addition to his loving wife Doris he is survived by his five children, Don Tarleton and wife Dolores of Middletown, Mark Tarleton and wife Hypatia of Rosemont, James Tarleton and wife Theresa of Middletown, Tracey Kelvington and husband David of Charles Town, WV and Rick Tarleton of Aiken, SC, grandchildren, Heather T., Blake, Tarah, Heather O., Megan, Reanna, Luke, Paige, Ashley, Heather S., Hannah, Andrew and Stephanie, great grandchildren, Austin, Blake Jr., Preston and Braden, two sisters, Dorothy Sands and Mary Bomert, two brothers, Jerry Tarleton and Joe Tarleton. He will also me remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Preston Tarleton and three brothers, James Tarleton, Louis Tarleton and Edward Tarleton.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Thursday, January 12th and on Friday, January 13th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 11:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Church Road, Petersville, MD with Father Lawrence J. Gesy and Deacon Lawrence P. "Tex" Teixeira officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Petersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Preston Tarleton Fund, 312 East Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
