Mr. Francis Christopher Ott, “Petie”, 79, of Thurmont, Maryland went home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 16, 2013 at his home. He is survived by Patricia Ott his wife of nearly 60 years.
Born on September 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Ott. He worked as a custodian for Frederick County Public Schools at Sabillasville Elementary School and was the caretaker at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Thurmont, Maryland. In earlier years Petie worked for Cambridge Rubber Company, for 30 years, in Taneytown.
Petie enjoyed riding his scooter, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Keilholtz of Emmitsburg, and Cheryl White and husband Thomas White of Keymar, siblings Richard Ott of Graceham, John Ott of Emmitsburg, and Patricia Glass of Delaware, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He predeceased in death by a brother Charles Ott, a daughter Carol Ann Smith, and grandson Michael White.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Tuesday, February 19, from 4-7:00pm, where services will be held Wednesday, February 20, at 10:00 am, with Deacon John Hawkins officiating.
Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P. O. Box 1799, Frederick, Maryland 21702. The family would like to thank Hospice for all their help and support.
