Francis Albert

Francis E. Albert, 86, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of Felicia Margaret Riffle Albert, his wife of 68 years.

Born on August 29, 1930, in Boonsboro, MD, he was the son of the late Percy, Sr. and Daisy Gruber Albert.

Francis worked hard his entire life including MJ Grove Lime Company, Flanagan Orchard and Blue Ridge Cemetery, as well as various odd jobs for anyone needing help. He had a wonderful singing voice, singing in the church choir for many years; but most of all loved spending time with his nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Sonny".

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: Rebecca Thompson and husband Chuck of Illinois, Felicia L. Albert of Thurmont and Mark Albert and wife Connie of Thurmont; two grandchildren: Christopher Thompson and Ashley Albert; three sisters: Joan Shaw, Glendora Burger and Vivian Rohrer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Albert, and siblings: Paul Albert, Percy Albert, Jr., Eugene Albert, Thelma Reeder and Mary Burger.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Friday, February 3, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.

A celebration of Francis's life journey will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 N. Altamont Ave. Thurmont with  Rev. Bob Kells officiating.  Interment will take place in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
