Frances "Frankie" (Ford) Everline, 89, of 8507 Barnes Road in Boonsboro, Maryland, departed this life on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro, after a brief illness.
Born on July 1, 1922, she was a lifelong resident of the Boonsboro area; the youngest daughter of the late George H. Ford and Blanche (Itnyre) Ford. Frankie was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen, and six siblings, she being the last surviving member of her family.
In 1940 she graduated from Boonsboro High School where she had been active in sports, music, and drama. Frankie was also a graduate of Hagerstown Business College, class of 1941.
She had been employed by Potomac Edison and later by the Washington County Sanitary Commission, but, most importantly, she was also a homemaker.
As a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, Frankie had served as a Sunday school teacher in the Children's Department; was President of the Women's Group, assisted with the Youth Group, served on the Church Council and sang on the choir.
For almost fifteen years she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at Boonsboro Elementary School.
Surviving her is her beloved husband, J. Gilbert (Buzz) Everline, whom she married on March 27, 1943 and three children and their families; Kathy Berry and her husband, Mike of Austin, Texas, Penny Friddle and her husband, Charlie of Elkins, West Virginia, and John Everline and Irene Ellis of Boonsboro. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Scott and Mark Berry, Brooks Everline, Chip Friddle and Kate Reed and Dylan Ellis; six great-grandchildren, Madelein, Allison and Blanca Berry, Bryce and Camden Everline, Kyle Reed and expecting a seventh this summer.
She was Aunt Frankie to her many nieces and nephews.
When you visited with Frankie you always knew you would be invited to eat and you never went away hungry. And, as long as she was able, she never failed to send cards to her friends and family. Her caring ways and attention to individual's needs will be sorely missed.
