Frances (Catherine) Daugherty

Frances Catherine (Grimm) Daugherty, 85, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on February 14, 1927 in Trego, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Luther Olin and Fannie Sophia (Gloss) Grimm. Her husband, Ernest F. "Doc" Daugherty, preceded her in death in 1988.
Catherine was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and in her early years had formerly been an employee with Fairchild Industries and also had worked in the cafeteria at the Maugansville and Fountaindale Elementary Schools in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Weaver and her husband Gary of Clear Spring, Maryland, and Donna K. Bardecki of Keedysville, Maryland; one son, Dennis L. Daugherty of Bidwell, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kristi L. Bachtell and her husband Chris of Hagerstown, Bryan K. Weaver of Hagerstown, Dennis L. Daugherty, II, Darrin Daugherty, and Dana Daugherty, all of Gallipolis, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb R. Bachtell and Cody J. Bachtell.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William M. Gloss and Arthur S. Grimm, and her son-in-law, Frank J. Bardecki, Jr.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Rohrersville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
