Frances Whitehair

Frances Elizabeth Whitehair, 73, of Damascus, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.  Her lights are now glowing as she has entered through our Lords Golden Gates.

Born on January 30, 1947, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Howard and Marie Josephine (Casserly) Howard.  She attended St. Patricks Academy, Class of 1965.  Fran moved to Olney, Maryland and enjoyed being a stay at home mom for her four children.  Throughout her life she loved her dogs, relaxing and people watching in Ocean City.  Most of all, Fran enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Whitehair of Damascus, Patty and husband, Joe Loch, of Wellington, FL, Kyle and wife, Kristi Whitehair, of Adamstown, MD and Tracy Whitehair of Frederick; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charles Freer; and many nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by all, but especially her eldest daughter, her sidekick, Kim.

Frances was preceded in death by both her parents, her siblings and their spouses (Anne Freer, Margaret Hyrkas, Ronald Hyrkas, Bernie Howard, Joanne Powell, and Buddy Powell).

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick where memorial services will begin at 5 p.m. with Deacon Scott Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to lumindidsc.org (Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation).
