Frances Tennant

Frances M. (Marshall) Stevens Tennant, 75, of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, passed from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, West Virginia.

Born on May 8, 1939, in Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gilbert Marshall and Lillie Viola (McCoy) Myers Marshall.

Frances had been employed at Walt's Restaurant in Shepherdstown, the American Legion Post 236 and Ferry Hill, both in Sharpsburg, Maryland, and the J & D Club in Shepherdstown.  In 2009, she retired from the Conococheague Sportsman Club in Sharpsburg.

She is survived by four children, Teresa Keebaugh and husband Robert, Gregory Stevens, Dawn Snyder and late husband Keith, all of Shepherdstown, and April Hilliard and husband Johnny of Falling Waters, West Virginia; one grandson, Keith Snyder, Jr. of Shepherdstown; two granddaughters, Amanda Stevens of Hedgesville, West Virginia, and Stephanie Bonar of Jefferson County, West Virginia; her adopted great grandson, Damien Stephens of Inwood, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Viola Marshall of Sharpsburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She will also be missed by her pet dog, Marley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Dale W. Stevens, Sr.; infant daughter, Karen Sue Stevens, son, Dale W. Stevens, Jr.; grandson, Christopher L. Snyder; two brothers, Charles Kenneth (Tunie) Myers and Walter Leroy Marshall; and four sisters, Alice Louise Myers Martin, Beatrice Irene Myers Ingram, Phyllis Lorraine Myers Knight, and Sylvia Jean Marshall Hammersla.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.  Pastor Terry Marshall will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Manor Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Tilghmanton, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the funeral home.
