Frances Stiles
September 11, 1926 — September 10, 2015
Mrs. Frances E. Stiles of Mt. Airy, MD, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Northampton Manor Health Care, just one day prior to her 89th birthday. She was the wife of the late Arthur Stiles, Jr., who predeceased her in September of 1998.
Born September 11, 1926 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Peter P. and Amelia (Otto) Zavistowski.
Frances enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. In her younger years, she was an avid golfer and loved traveling the world. She enjoyed a career as a secretary and, later, as a travel agent.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Wirfs and husband, Joe, of Mt. Airy; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Claire Vecchio of Massachusetts.
She was predeceased by her son, Arthur Stiles III, in 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15th from St. Peter's Catholic Church in Libertytown, MD.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
