Mrs. Frances L. Reynolds, 88, of Thurmont, MD, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at University of Maryland Hospital. She was the wife of the late Floyd T. Reynolds.
Born March 14, 1925 in Rocky Ridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Opal Long Stambaugh.
Mrs. Reynolds was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. In earlier years, she worked at Moore Business Forms and retired, after many years, from Catoctin High School and Shamrock Restaurant. Frances loved taking care of her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Steven Reynolds and Sharon Black of Thurmont, grandchildren Jennifer, Travis and Alayna Black and Markea Price, great grandchildren Tre’, Natalie, Jeremy, Jensyn and Allisyn, siblings Charles “Son” Stambaugh, Betty Eyler and husband Charles, Ken Stambaugh and wife Janet and Richard “Dick” Stambaugh and wife Joyce, sister-in-law Velma Stambaugh, and her special friends Janet Snurr and Betty Zentz. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband Franklin Rhodes, a brother Fred Stambaugh and son-in-law Jeff Black.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, Monday July 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, at 11:00 am from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 15 N. Church St., Thurmont.
