Frances (Frankie) Smith (Trawick) Reid

February 25, 1934 - July 28, 2024

Frankie Lou Smith Reid, age 90, went to be with our Lord July 28th, 2024. 

Frankie was born February 25th, 1934 to Mary Frances Bennett and Howard Taft Smith in Clifton Forge,VA and lived in Covington, VA in her early life.  

She married James Richard Trawick in 1956 and together had 3 sons and a daughter. She is survived by her children, Rick (Cindy) Trawick, Andrew (Ann) Trawick, Mary Jo (Sid) Huguenin, and Bob (Hope) Trawick, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. 

Frankie was active in church life and hosted The Fountain Coffee House in the ‘70s where many teenagers became “Jesus People”. She was very devoted to her faith and shared that with all she knew. 

Frankie began her teaching career in 1971 with the Montgomery County MD school system teaching art and then special needs kids. At retirement in 2000 she moved back to her hometown of Covington, VA for much of her final years. She was married to her childhood friend, Russell David Reid, from 2010 until his death in 2019. 

She will be interred at the Alleghany Memorial Park, 7008 Winterberry Avenue, Covington, VA 24426; where a service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11am.
