Frances Page

November 24, 1947 — January 12, 2019

Ann Page, 71, of Dickerson, MD, passed away on Saturday January 12, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  She was the wife of Edward L. Page.  She was born in Frederick Maryland on November 24, 1947.  Her parents were the late Millard Preston Gibbons and Harriet B. Hoffman Gibbons.
Ann Page was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of 1965.  Ann’s work was always at home.  She was a dairy farmer with her husband Ed for 25 years.  On occasion she would bring the play pen to the dairy barn to take care of their children while milking cows.  Ann was always taking care of all the people in her life.  She said that her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and she was very proud of all 3 of them.
Ann Page was a nature lover and enjoyed watching the geese, squirrels and hummingbirds outside her home.   She was the protector of the geese in the pond behind her house and made sure that was a safe place for them.  She planted gardens of wonderful roses and flowers to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
Ann Page was a lover of cats and always had several cats her whole life and they were some of her best friends.
Ann was a prolific gardener and canned hundreds of quarts of green beans, tomatoes and corn every year.  Many in the area got the honor of eating some of Ann’s cooking.  She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed hosting a large tableful for the holidays.  Some of her specialties included kinklings, fruitcake, strawberry shortcake and vegetable soup.  Ann enjoyed watching cooking shows, especially Julia Childs and Lydia, as well as collecting cookbooks.
Ann enjoyed antiquing with her husband Ed.  They had the most fun collecting the food and spice tins from the A&P brand, called Ann Page!  They also collected Tim Wolf and Tom Clark gnomes and had a beautiful collection.  Ed and Ann enjoyed trips to Amish country, Lancaster, PA.  A trip to Maine was most enjoyable with Cousin Sally and Aunt Soph.
Ann Page is survived by her husband, Edward Page; daughter Angela Clelan and husband Richard; son Ernest Scott Page and wife Joy; and daughter Sarah  Moxley and husband Kraig.  Ann is survived by her brother Millard Gibbons and wife Pamela and sister Nancy Smith and husband Robert; and brother in law Ted Mercer and wife Fern.  She is also survived by grandchildren Megan Clelan, Caleb Page, Gabriel Page, and Jeremiah Page; as well as by her cat Frizzle.  She is predeceased by nephew Dustin Gibbons.  She will be greatly missed by her many cousins, family and friends.
She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.  Special thanks go to the staff of Citizens Nursing Home, especially Mavis, Angie, Phillip, Mary, Jessica, Amanda, and Amy.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Ann’s close friend and caregiver for almost two years, Wanda Flack.  Ann always thought of Wanda as a daughter and always looked forward to seeing Wanda and her family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  A service will be held at Stauffer’s on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11am with a graveside service to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Officiating as pallbearers will be, Terre Rhoderick, Tom O’Brien, Millard Gibbons, Tom Winters, Richard Clelan and Caleb Page.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Ted Mercer, Gabriel Page, and Jeremiah Page.
