Frances Sue Murphy

Frances Sue Murphy, 81, of Mount Airy, MD died peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her home in Mount Airy.  Born June 11, 1941, in Renick West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Gladys Tayler. She was the devoted wife of Wendell Lee Murphy, to whom she was happily married for 63 years. 

Frances was a graduate of Glenelg High School, class of 59. She worked as a supervisor for Geico Insurance for 25 years.  Frances loved spending time with her family and could be found passing time reading, cooking, crocheting, and playing BINGO. She was also a member of the Mounty Airy American Legion.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her brother Terry Taylor of Virginia and sisters Linda Keister of Mechanicsburg, PA and Kay Winkles and husband David of Sykesville, MD; children, Michael Murphy, Tina Murphy and Wendy Deavers and husband John all of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Brittany Snell and husband Cody, Ashley Murphy, Shane Deavers and fiancé Natalie Korman, Cheyenne Deavers, Johnny Deavers and wife Nicole and Brandy Williams and husband Dylan. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers Carl Taylor, Robert Taylor, Donna Taylor, Joe Taylor, Larry Taylor, and sister Myrtle Fugate.
