Frances Graham

Frances W. Graham, 91, of Mt. Airy, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Lorien, Mt. Airy.

Born September 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Lippold. She was the wife of the late Guilford R. White and the late D. Douglas Graham. Her only surviving sister is Doris K. Burns.

Frances Anne Lippold White Graham worked part-time when her children were school age. After they became more independent, she taught and fired ceramics from a studio in the basement of her home. She was also a pipe organ enthusiast, loved camping and traveling, knitting and latch hook rug making. While a resident at Lorien nursing home for the past 5 years, she enjoyed the company of her roommate Mary McGuire, playing Bingo and Wii Bowling. Being an active participant in the Catholic Worship Service every Sunday was very important to her.

Surviving children and spouses are: Stephen and Cynthia White, Kenneth White, Carolyn and Jack Fuller, Paul and Cindy White.

Grandchildren and spouses are: Douglas and Jill White, Benjamin and Paula White, Matthew and Kristen White, Charles and Rochelle White, Lori and Jon Sewell, Keri and Shawn Goodwin, Todd Fuller (deceased), Mark White, MaryBeth and Jeremy Weaber.

Greatgrandchildren: Sara and Stephen White; Brandon and Jesse White; Izzabella and Vincent White; Emily, Madelynn, Gwyn and Allyson Sewell; Gus Goodwin; Sally Weaber.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1200 St. Michael’s Road, Mt. Airy. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
