Frances Crum
September 2, 1924 — January 29, 2018
Frances V. Crum, 93, of Keymar, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of 50 years to the late George W. Crum.
Born on September 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Elmer John and Cora Bell (Coshun) Moser. Frances was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. She grew up farming with her brothers and sisters and continued working alongside her husband on their dairy farm. She took great pride in keeping her home immaculate. She enjoyed being outside and working in her garden and canning vegetables for her family. She was an honorary member and volunteer at New Midway Volunteer Fire Company for some of their fundraising events. She especially enjoyed serving pancakes for their breakfasts. She got a kick out of being recognized as the “Pancake Lady.” She was a kind and generous person, always willing to help her family and friends in any way she was able.
Frances is survived by her son, Carroll Crum and wife, Doris; her sisters, Carrie Bollinger, Anna Fogle, Violet Crum, Dorothy Wachter, and sister-in-law, Betty Moser; special nephews, Melvin, Joe and David Crum; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Renner, Ethel Thomas, John Moser, Richard Moser and Edith Moser; and siblings-in-law, John Renner, Melvin Crum, Carmen Fogle, Charles Wachter, Eva Crum Moser, William Bollinger and Austin Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, Walkersville, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersvile, Maryland. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 3rd at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.
