Frances "Frannie" Marcella Black, 74, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Silverado Frederick Memory Care Community in Frederick, MD. She was the loving wife of Robert "Bob" Black, whom she married on February 11, 1972.
Born on September 23, 1950, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emory Granville Wagerman and Anna Mae (Brown) Wagerman.
She was an integral part of the team at Catoctin Mountain Orchard and the "Pick your own blueberry patch". She was a master baker and loved cooking large meals for family and friends, especially for holidays.
Frannie was an avid flower gardener and Bob planted many roses for her over the years. Additionally, she was an animal lover and world traveler in younger years with Bob and many friends. She was a member of the Emmitsburg VFW and the Thurmont Amvets.
Most importantly, times spent with her family were most precious to Frannie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, the staff at Silverado, and Frederick Health Hospice for the loving care given to Frannie over the years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jackie Black Wagerman and husband, Lamar, of Fairfield, PA; son, Christopher Black and wife, Kiona, of Emmitsburg; five grandchildren, Katlyn (Brandon), Wyatt, Nathan (Jenna), Kylie (Bryce), and Eaves; a great-grandson, Graysen; two sisters, Sandra Valentine and Peggy Wagerman; sister-in-law, Pat Black; and many additional family members and special, life-long friends.
Frannie was predeceased by brothers, John Wagerman and Bob "Stuckey" Wagerman,; and a sister, Shirley Timmons.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, MD.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 Altamont Avenue in Thurmont, MD, with family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at church. Pastor Mark Eyler will officiate.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. Pallbearers will be her loving family, son, Chris Black; son-in-law, Lamar Wagerman; grandsons, Wyatt, Nathan, and Eaves Black; and Brandon Marshall.
If desired, Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, The Guardian Hose Company, The Thurmont Ambulance Company, or Frederick Health Hospice.
