Floyd (Chic) Schildknecht

Floyd (Chic) Keefer Schildknecht, 81, of Hagerstown, MD passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, February 18, 2017. Married June 15, 1962 he was the beloved husband of Dora Jane Wiles Schildknecht.
Born February 4, 1936 in Middletown, MD he was the son of the late Floyd Henry Jacob and Anna Elizabeth Kinna Schildknecht.
Chic was a graduate of Middletown High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1990, Chic worked at Mack Trucks as a Machinist. He loved being with his family, country music, watching TV, sports, bowling and his beloved dogs. Chic could do anything, fix cars, build furniture, house repairs, etc., he will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Dr. Brenda Schildknecht-Hargett and husband Robert, son Steve Schildknecht and companion Beth Shearer and daughter Linda Lewis and husband Billy; grandchildren Edward Giffin and Gage Lewis and great-granddaughter Laura Giffin.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Schildknecht, brother, Charles Schildknecht and grandson, Ryan Lewis.
Services and interment will be private. A Celebration of Chic's life will be held at a later date.
