Florence Sandy

Florence Ruth (Plunkert) Sandy, 72, of Rohrersville, Maryland, went to be with her lord on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her home.
Born on May 7, 1938, in Harmony, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Merchant) Plunkert.
Mrs. Sandy was a 1956 graduate of Frederick High School, and she was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Boonsboro, Maryland.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years whom she married on December 30, 1956, Walter A. Sandy, Sr.and her four children, Walter A. "Wally" Sandy and his wife Debbie of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, Linda M. Sandy of China, Sherry L. Sandy of Hagerstown and William H. Sandy, Sr. of Rohrersville. She is also survived by her grandsons Dakota and Will, and her great-grandson Logan.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sandy was preceded in death by her son John K. Sandy; her three sisters Mary Plunkert, Ellen Perkins, and Evelyn Kline; and her brother Howard "Bud" Perkins.
The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 . Pastor Ed Wade and Pastor Bruce Gephart will officiate. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
