Florence Powell

Florence Irene Powell, 77, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Vindobona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Braddock Heights, Maryland. She was beloved wife of John Powell for 57 years.
Born on January 5, 1942, in Washington, D.C. , she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Felicia F. (Stafford) Stokely.
Florence spent time employed at NIH for 5 years and at Roache Biomedical Lab for 10 years. She was also a homemaker and stay at home mom for many years. She enjoyed the theater, reading, dining out, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loved taking care of animals, particularly cats, and caring for those who had less than her and giving to charities for both people and animals.
In addition to her husband, John Powell, she is survived by her sons George and Ralph (Sandra), grandson Dylan, as well as her siblings Christine, Raymond, Jean and Peter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-3PM on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.
Interment will be private.
