Mrs. Florence Carmel Indolfi, 95, of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph A. Indolfi.
Born September 26, 1920 in Caulonia, Calabria, Italy to the late Frank N. and Teresa Argiro Lupis.
Florence and her husband owned and operated George Street Cleaners in Cumberland, MD. Florence was formerly a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cumberland and more recently St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Frederick. She was very family oriented and loved to cook for them. Anyone that knew Florence appreciated her love for cooking. In her spare time she also enjoyed crocheting. Florence was a member of an Italian Club, Anita Garibaldi, in Cumberland.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne Permenter Smith of Frederick; her siblings Margaret Incarnato of OH, Angela Fellows of IL and Frank Lupis of VA; sisters-in-law Carmen Garrett, Maria Garagiulo and Betty Indolfi; cousin Rocco Prologo and wife Sina of Silver Spring and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son Samuel F. Indolfi and her brother Victor Lupis.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 29 at 1:00PM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd St., Frederick, MD. Father Hector Mateus-Ariza will be the Celebrant.
A graveside service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery Cumberland on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Lupis, Jr., Christopher Monarca, Robert Lee Permenter, Rocco Prologo and Frank Valentine.
