Florence Hillier

Florence L. Hillier died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at her home in Mount Airy, MD. She was 97.

She was born in Augusta, Maine. She was married to Robert J. Hillier (who died March 12, 2009) for 72 years. Florence was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and golf. She is survived by her daughter Hope Michael of Mount Airy, MD, her brother-in-law Gordon Hillier, of Readfield, Me.; her brother-in-law Herbert H. Bryne, Jr. of Augusta, Me; her grandchildren, Melinda Hannah of Centerville, Va., Tammy Irwin of Westminster, Md and Pamm Shankman of Mount Airy, Md along with 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A private family-only memorial service will be held at Stauffer’s Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard Mt. Airy, Maryland 21771. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Florence’s honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org Interment will be in Augusta, Maine.
