Flora Rae Boehm, 72, passed away Sunday, November 20th, 2016 at the Lorien Assisted Living Home in Mt Airy. Beloved wife of the late Kurt J. Boehm, Flora is survived by her son, Christopher I. Boehm of Los Angeles, and her brother William R. Brockway of Mt Airy. Flora was born on July 9, 1944, the daughter of Edward J. Brockway and Velma M. Brockway. She completed her undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia before enlisting in the United States Navy, where she served as a nurse during the Vietnam War. While serving, she met her late husband and they married in Los Alamitos, California. They later moved to El Paso, Texas where she gave birth to her only son, Christopher. They eventually settled in Maryland, where she went on to work at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. Later, she went worked in the food service industry in various roles. Flora had many hobbies, as she liked to sew, knit and garden. She also loved many of her pets, including her beloved dog, Zoe, a pot-belly pig and her fish pond with frogs.

The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.

All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
