Mrs. Felicia Monticelli, 42 of Frederick, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at her home. She was born in Syracuse, NY in November 1969. She grew up in a rural area enjoying the acres of woods and the pond that her parents owned.
In her youth she was highly imaginative and she loved reading and art. These interests stayed with her her whole life and expanded with her study of mythology, literature, history, and culture.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Binghamton University in 1993 and a Masters in English from Arizona State University in 1996. She considered her job as Writing Center Manager at Frederick Community College her first real professional position and grew with the programs she developed.
She is survived by her husband Joe Mondo, and daughter Gloria, her loving mother and father, Karen and Dean, and sisters Rachel and Irena.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, May 25th from 1:00-2:00PM where a service celebrating Felicia’s life will then begin at 2:00PM.
