Fayette Wilbur Stouffer, 89, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. He was the beloved husband of 11 years to Doris Jean (Miller) Stouffer
Born on October 16, 1929, in Mt. Lena, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ernest Elwood Stouffer and Lottie Savilla (Kinsey) Stouffer. Fayette was a 1948 graduate of Boonsboro High School and went on to serve in the United States Army, where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He worked for Potomac Edison for more than 33 years until his retirement. He was an active member of Mt. Lena church who was dedicated to his faith. He enjoyed cruising, traveling, spending time outdoors gardening and never missed an opportunity for a good meal.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Donna Munson and husband Roger, Teresa Sweigert and husband Jimmy, Patti Martin and husband Dale; very special sister-in-law, Anna Stouffer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Lorraine (Shank) Stouffer; siblings, Vivian Vanoorhis, Marvin Stouffer, Charles Stouffer, Mildred Hogan, Elvin Stouffer and Vernon Stouffer.
A Celebration of His Life’s Journey will be held at 11am on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church, 21234 Mt. Lena Road in Boonsboro, Maryland. The Reverend A. Paul Harne will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are encouraged to be made to the church cemetery fund at the above address.
