Fay Mongan

Fay Ellen Mongan, 68, of Brownsville, MD passed away on Oct. 19, 2016 at her home.

Born August 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Luella Younkins Anders and wife of the late Douglas L. Mongan.

She was a graduate 1966 graduate of Boonsboro High School and a graduate of the Award Beauty Academy in Hagerstown, MD.

Fay was a homemaker and hairstylist, caregiver, and friend to all. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and spent her whole life serving in the Brownsville Church of the Brethren as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, deacon, and a founding member of its Prayer Shawl Ministry.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Julie Norris and husband Scott of Trego, MD; daughter Sara Dillow and husband Brian of Brownsville, MD; and son Scott Mongan and wife Nikki of Harpers Ferry, WV; six grandchildren: Emily and Bethany Norris, Abby and Noah Dillow, and Zoe and Ryan Mongan; brother David Anders and wife Barbara of Brownsville, brother Stephen Anders and wife Linda of Trego, many nephews and nieces as well as a special nephew David S. Anders of Brownsville, who was like a son to her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Clyde Anders, and sister Marguerite Nasuto.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren on November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at the old Brownsville cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
