Eyerly E. Ingram, 83, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home.
Born on November 26, 1932, in Dargan, Maryland, he was the son of the late John T. and Viola V. (Smith) Ingram. His wife of 36 years, Joyce A. (Myers) Ingram, preceded him in death on January 15, 1991.
Eyerly was a retired federal government employee having worked at Ft. Detrick, Maryland.
He enjoyed bingo, country music and travel. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and making people laugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy J. Ingram of Hagerstown; two sons, Michael E. Ingram of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and Lee M. Ingram and wife Angie of Smithsburg, Maryland; six grandchildren, Shawntae Lewis and husband Jamie, Jessica Knode and husband Patrick, Marissa Ingram, Caitlyn Ingram, Kayla Swauger, and Mark Hammond; and four great-grandchildren, Evan Knode, Zachary Knode, Brantley Lewis, and Landon Lewis.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Gish; one son, Mark Ingram; and his longtime companion, Eva Knight. Eyerly was the last surviving sibling of his family, having been preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Samples Manor Church of God, 2128 Harpers Ferry Road in Sharpsburg. Rev. Curtis King will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow in the Samples Manor Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 from Boonsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
