Exall Law Kimbro, Jr.

Exall Law Kimbro, Jr., 89, of Mount Airy, Maryland, formerly of Columbia, Maryland, passed away on March 2, 2023 at Lorien Mount Airy Assisted Living.

Exall was born on December 22, 1933 in Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas to Exall Law Kimbro and Lucy Elizabeth (Knowles) Kimbro.  He grew up in Monticello and then graduated from University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1953 with a Bachelor in Science where he was Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian.  In 1957 he received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.  From 1957 to 1961 he worked at Johns Hopkins as a Resident in Psychiatry.

In 1961, he became a Psychiatrist at the Mental Health Study Center, National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland.  From 1961 to 1964 he was a Commissioned Officer-Senior Assistant Surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service.  He met his wife, Clara Louise (Duncan) Kimbro, who was also a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service.  In 1964, he became the Chief of the Clinical Study Section at the Mental Health Study Center.  In 1967 he went in to full time Psychiatric private practice in Laurel, Maryland until he retired in 2004.

Exall is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Kimbro Pecar with husband, Joe, and their four children, Chaz (wife Emma), Duncan, Lilly (husband Will) and Gil (fiance Emma) Pecar and his son, David Duncan Kimbro with wife, Marinilka, and their two children Jack and Calvin Kimbro.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Crosslife Bible Church, 2127 W. Old Liberty Road, Westminster, MD 21257.  Services will begin at 11:00am with Quint Merson officiating.  Luncheon to follow.
