Evelyn L. Green

Mrs. Evelyn L. Green, 76 of Thurmont, MD., died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Glade Valley Nursing Home. She was the wife of Clifford Green, her husband of 60 years.

Born March 22, 1933 in Mountaindale, MD., she was the daughter of the late Louis Spencer and Anna Elizabeth Fultz Rice.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Living Word Ministries in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. She retired from the Frederick Memorial Hospital after 30 years. Evelyn loved crocheting, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children James Green and wife Maureen of Rice, VA, JoAnne Cottrell and husband Richard of Frederick and Linda Noonan of Charleston, S.C., Six grandchildren James Green, Kim Green, David Wood, Matthew Wood, Kaitlyn Wood and Michael Wood, numerous great grandchildren, her sister EthelNute Swanson of Frederick, sisters-in-law Bonnie, Joan and Betty Rice. She will also be remembered by her special friends Pat Snowden and Donna Bollinger.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Boots Sweeney and Shine Honts and brothers Pete, Jim, Jack, Jazz, Guinea and Buzz Rice.

Services: Memorial services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD. On Wednesday, December 9, at 11:00 a.m. With Rev. Warren Rice officiating. Interment Private.
