Evelyn E. Bonney

Mrs. Evelyn E. Bonney, 88, of Frederick died on Thursday, August 30, at Frederick Memorial Hospital She was wife of the late W. Ralph Bonney who died in 2001.

Born on September 11, 1918, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Edna L. Gall Nicholson. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick where she was involved with WELCA. Evelyn was also a 50+ year member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 79; a leader of Rainbow Girls, Camp Hill, PA; Jobe's Daughters, Bethel 57, Wheaton Woods; as well as the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed to travel, Sewing and needlework, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughter who lived with her as a caregiver for the past few years, Patti Shank and husband Wallace of Black Hawk, CO; 3 grandchildren: Alex Kidwell of Thurmont, Bruce Shank of San Diego, CA and Bill Shank of Black Hawk, CO; a brother Barney Nicholson of
Frederick; a son-in-law, Ray Kidwell of Thurmont; a sister-in-law, Marlene Nicholson of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; nieces and nephews: Debi Etter and husband Paul Sanders of Greencastle, PA, Gary Nicholson and wife Sonia and their daughter, Nichole Nicholson all of Blue Ridge Summit, PA.

Mrs Bonney was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann E. Kidwell and brothers and sisters: Duke Nicholson, Gloria Green and Bob Nicholson.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 79 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at at the funeral home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, with her pastor Rev. David G. Oravec officiating.

Interment will take place in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont
