Evelyn Shaull

October 28, 1922 — April 6, 2014

Evelyn Lucille (Mellott) Shaull, 91, formerly of Fairplay, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on October 28, 1922, in Downsville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Frances M. (Rohrer) Mellott.  Her husband, James H. Shaull, preceded her in death in 1989.

Evelyn was a 1940 graduate from Hagerstown High School.  Her children and the farm were her greatest loves.

She was a social butterfly at Reeders Memorial Home, participating in many activities including the resident's committee and the Golden Olympics.

She was a lifelong member of the Manor Church of the Brethren in Tilghmanton, Maryland.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley A. Graff and husband Kevin of Morristown, Tennessee, Bonnie Shaull also known as Carmen Taylor of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and Patty M. Kennedy of Morven, Georgia; one brother, Lyle G. Mellott of Boonsboro; four grandchildren, Thomas, Mike, Lee, and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her good friends, Barbara Warrenfeltz of Fairplay, and Leon Young of Boonsboro.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James G. Shaull; and one brother, George "Bucky" Mellott.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Manor Church of the Brethren, 18511 Manor Church Road in Tilghmanton.  Rev. Joy E. Zepp will officiate.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
