Evelyn Green

Mrs. Evelyn Marie Green, 73, of Thurmont, passed away on Tuesday, May 23.  She was the wife of the late Earl B. Green, Sr, who preceded her in death.  Born on March 21, 1944 at her family home in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Hewitt and Charlotte Donnelly.

Evelyn was a seamstress at Claire Frock in Thurmont before her retirement in the early 1990's.  She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, puzzles, "yard saleing" and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Green is survived by her children, Earl Greene, Jr., Curtis Greene and his wife Shirley, Terry Greene and Beverly; five grandchildren: Terry Greene, Jr. and wife Marlea, Jennifer Greene, Lindsey Campbell and her husband Mike, Bradley Greene and his wife Mindie and Chad Greene; three great-grandchildren: Aeden Campbell, Jack Campbell and Samantha Campbell.  She is also survived by her brothers: Melvin Hewitt, Jr. and his wife Pat, Monroe Hewitt, Jimmy Hewitt and his wife Patty and Jerry Hewitt and his wife Angie; sisters: Mary Little, Doris Knott, Suz Wolf and her husband Randy and sister-in-law Ruth Hewitt.  Evelyn is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Hewitt and brothers-in-law: Leo Little and Rich Knott as well as sister-in-law Geraldine Hewitt.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
