Evelyn Damazo passed away peacefully in her home, on Sunday, March 11, 2012.
She had just celebrated her 90th birthday in February.
She was born in New Bedford, MA, on February 20, 1922, the third child of 10, to the late Frank S. Damazo, Sr. and the late Christine Cotter Damazo.
She was a life time member of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Her life demonstrated her Christian belief and faith as a loving, caring person to her family, as a second mother to her many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, and to many dear friends and neighbors.
Her years as a teacher endeared her to her students and their parents as well.
She was preceded in death by her brother Herbert S. Damazo of Knoxville, MD. Surviving are 6 bothers Joseph Damazo of Jefferson, MD, Dr. Frank and wife Ann Damazo, Jr., of Frederick, Paul and wife Jay Damazo of Loma Linda, CA, David and wife Lil Damazo of Redlands, CA, Ray and wife Gail Damazo of North Bend, WA, Milton and wife Irm Damazo of Olney, MD, 2 sisters, Dorothy and husband Ted Miller of Jefferson, MD and Naomi Adams of Portland, OR, sister-in-law Jane Damazo of Knoxville, MD, 26 nieces and nephews, several great and great, great nieces and nephews, and a host of very dear friends and neighbors.
A private viewing and graveside service for family members will be Thursday, March 15, 2012 and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, at 4:00 pm in the Herbert Damazo Memorial Chapel in the Seventh-day Adventist church at 6437 Jefferson Pike in Frederick, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) at 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
