Eveline A. (Basalyga) Maliszewski, 90, formerly of Allentown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at Edenton Retirement Community in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on November 4, 1924, in Taylor, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas G. and Catherine L. (O'Malley) Basalyga.  Her husband of sixty-four years, Aloysius Maliszewski, preceded her in death on December 25, 2010.

Eveline was a 1942 graduate of Newton-Ransom High School in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.

She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Allentown.

Eveline's working career began as a real estate agent, in which she was one of the first women in the Allentown area to work in real estate.  She was also an accomplished seamstress, knitter, crocheter, artist, and was known to have a "green thumb" in regards to indoor and outdoor plants, as well as her garden she took great pride in caring for.

She will forever be remembered for her love of hosting family and friend get-together's and making those who came to her home feel very welcomed. Eveline was also an avid animal lover.

Eveline is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Gonzales and husband, Alfred, of Anderson, South Carolina; her sister, Annette Sloan of Bridgeport, Connecticut; and her brother, Nicholas Basalyga of Florida and the Bahamas.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Catherine Kippycash and Thelma Basalyga.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you and appreciation to the staff at Fiddler's Green, part of Edenton Retirement Community, where Eveline had been a resident for the past five years.

Services will be held privately.
