Eva Zigler

Mrs. Eva Caroline Zigler, 84, of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Harold C. Zigler.

Born July 29, 1932 in Clarksburg, MD she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Carrie Virginia Crum Rippeon.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Blaine Zigler and wife Terri of Thurmont, MD, Cindy Grossnickle and husband Gary of Walkersville, MD, Daryl Zigler and wife Diana of Frederick, MD and Michael Zigler and wife Denise of Jefferson, MD; grandchildren Joshua Grossnickle, Carrie Pollock, Amy Squires, Benjamin Zigler and Morgan Zigler; step grandchildren Ronnie Easterday and Anthony Sewell, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren and sister Margaret Hoffman.

Caroline was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church where she held various positions on the church board. She was also an active member of the Lewistown Womens Society. Caroline started her career as a telephone operator and then continued to work and retire from the engineering department of C&P telephone located in Mt. Airy, Maryland. In her younger years, she was active in various sports and an avid bowler. She enjoyed spending weekends camping with her family and friends and playing cards.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10AM. Pastor Vicki Oliver will officiate.

Interment will follow at Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lewistown United Church. 11032 Hessong Bridge Road,Thurmont, MD 21788.
