Eva Stonesifer
August 3, 1929 — January 5, 2019
Eva June “Poonie” Stonesifer went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
She was born August 3, 1929 in Walkersville to the late Hallie and Ernest Martin Sr.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her sister, Irene Spurlock; and two brothers, Ernest Martin, Jr. and Richard Martin.
She worked at Cozy Restaurant in Thurmont for 26 years until her retirement. Eva liked to read, loved flowers, puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion UMC McKaig.
She is survived by her children, Terri Woods, Frank Corum, Pam Beard and husband, Rick, LeAnna Thomas and husband, Chris, and Ricky Trail and wife, Debbie; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by two very good friends, Jeanne Chipley and Wanda Valentine; as well as her beloved cat, Babes.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont. Rev. Richard Gibbs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home in Thurmont.
