Eva Pelnik, 94, entered peacefully into rest with her family by her side on December 20, 2018. She was the wife of the late John Pelnik.
She retired from Montgomery County Public Schools, Board of Education after 27 years of service.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Kathy Egan and husband Robert and her son, Brian Pelnik and wife Lynn; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as a sister, Anita Morris and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Gamache.
She was the essence of grace, beauty, love, strength and devotion. She always made it a point to lift everyone's spirits around her. Eva has left a legacy of love and generosity, teaching her family to cheer each other on through life's challenges and successes. Eva was her family's personal ray of sunshine who brightened so many lives. She will be missed beyond words.
The family is very grateful to her caregivers at Hospice of Frederick County, who brought compassionate care to her. Also to neighbors who performed random acts of kindness towards her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 28 from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A celebration of Eva's life will immediately follow visitation, in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
