Eva Mae Crum Moser, 85, of New Midway, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late John W Moser who predeceased her in June 2011 after sharing 62 wonderful years together.  Eva was the last of her immediate family.

Eva was born March 12, 1931 in Walkersville, MD to the late Sterley and Amy Main Crum.  She was a devoted farmer’s wife working alongside her husband on the family farm for many years.  She took pride in her gardening and canning.  She had a knack for baking pies and cakes and won several awards especially for her cakes and coconut, apple, and custard pies.   After retiring from farming, Eva went to work in the produce department at Food Lion in Walkersville for 10 years and was recognized for her hard work.  In her earlier years, Eva was a member of the New Midway Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxilary.  She spent the rest of her life doing what she loved the most, spending time with family and friends and her dog, Heather.   In her spare time, Eva spent many years volunteering for social events at the New Midway Volunteer Fire Department and was made a lifetime member.  Eva was a very giving person and it was recently quoted that she “didn’t have a mean bone in her body”.  She was a people person and loved having visitors.  She loved her family and would do anything she could to help anyone that needed it.  Some of her other hobbies were playing dominos, bingo, Thursday lunch gatherings with her relatives, day trips with her brother Ralph, and watching ice skating, The Voice, game shows, and Red Skelton.

Eva is survived by three daughters, Linda Plumer and husband George of New Midway, Dottie Zimmerman and husband Marvin of Middletown, and Deanna Meyer of New Midway; grandchildren Kevin Plumer and wife Betsy, Jason Plumer and wife Roxy, Mark Plumer and wife Sissy, Shanna Hearn and husband Mike, Kelly Zimmerman, Janelle Meyer, Brandon Meyer; great-grandchildren Krista Bowers and husband Joey, Kyle Plumer, Natalie Plumer, Abigail Plumer, Xander Wetzel, Brooke Hearn, and Reese Hearn; great-great-grandchildren  Brayden Bowers and baby Bowers due in June; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many “adopted children”.  Eva was preceded in death by son-in-law Robert Meyer, sisters; Margaret Baker, Lillian Green, Goldie Crum, and Helen Nusbaum and brothers Maurice, Arthur, Ralph, Glenn, George, Walter and Melvin Crum.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the love and care given to Eva.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville on Saturday, December 17, 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm.  Services will be officiated by Rev. Michelle Carlson on Sunday, December 18, at 1:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, Walkersville.  Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Daysville.  Pallbearers will be George Plumer, Marvin Zimmerman, Kevin Plumer, Jason Plumer, Mark Plumer, Brandon Meyer, Melvin Crum Jr., and Randy Connatser.
