Mrs. Eva M. Brand, 94, of Frederick died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Northampton Manor. Twice married, she was the wife of Orville Brand for nearly 53 years, and the late, Roland Klingler.
Born November 23, 1918 in Hague, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Schmaltz) Aberle.
Eva grew up in the Belle Fourche, South Dakota area until she married Roland Klingler on June 1, 1941. Following his untimely death on July 22, 1950, she moved back to Lead, SD, until she married Orville Brand on August 15, 1960 and the family relocated to Frederick.
She loved to dance, cook and entertain. Family was the most important thing in her life and especially in her later years. She relished in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by three children, Richard Brand and his wife, Dawn; Donald Klingler and his wife, Angie; Patricia Hart and her husband, Michael; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Genevieve Staud of Fort Worth, T.X; four brothers, John Aberle and his wife, Mary, of Spearfish, SD; Bill Aberle and his wife, Lavonne, of Littletown, CO; Tony Aberle and his wife, Rose, of Fort Collins, CO; and Joe Aberle and his wife, Genevieve, of Longmont, CO; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Aberle of Spearfish; and Marion Aberle of San Diego, California.
She was predeceased by five sisters, Regina, Magdalena, Judy, Mary and Annabelle; and three brothers, Mathias, Kenneth and Wendelin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick with visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m. Officiating will be Father Miguel Mateo.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
