Eugene Robert Weathers

Eugene Robert Weathers, 74, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, January 25, 2025 after many years of multiple health challenges.

Born on January 21, 1951, in Tacoma Park, Maryland. He was the son of the late Earl Frederick Weathers and Dolores Ruth Pefferle.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Shirley Weathers; loving father to Christine Hernandez, Shannon Parker, and Jason Weathers; cherished PopPop to Grayson, Alyssa, Hailey, Eli, Kennedy, Leona, Paige, and Dulce; sons-in-law, Alex Hernandez, and James Parker; and daughter-in-law, Amy Weathers. He will be missed by his siblings, Donald Weathers, Harold Weathers, and Donna Weathers; brother-in-law, William Patton; sisters-in-law, Karen Weathers, and Mary Sue Patton; as well as nieces, nephews, friends; and his sweet dog, Peanut. 

Gene will be remembered for his unwavering support for his family and his kindness and love for animals. Gene's strong work ethic and dedication provided a career in the automotive field for over 30 years. He served 10 years in the Marine Corps as an E6 Staff Sergeant. The Marine Corps allowed him to experience other cultures, including two tours in Vietnam. In the Marines, “Semper Fi” is Latin for “always faithful.” Gene lived every day by this motto-to be faithful to his family, Country, and the people he loved. 

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, in Frederick. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies, with military honors, will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, Maryland. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to ProjectALS.org, Frederick County Humane Society, and T2T.org.
