EUGENE FLIPPO
October 3, 1935 — July 8, 2016
Mr. Eugene E. Flippo, 80, of Mt. Airy went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, July 8, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Ann Combs Flippo, his wife of 55 years.
Born on October 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Harvey E. and Minnie Clopton Flippo.
He was a 1952 graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School, in Washington, DC and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Eugene retired as machinist with Naval Surface Warfare Center in White Oak on January 1, 1994, after 38 years of service.
He enjoyed working in his basement workshop making items for his grandchildren, as well as day trips to Lancaster, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Ralna Flippo of Westminster, two sons: Terry Flippo and wife Janet of Mt. Airy and Tommy Flippo and wife Debbie of Frederick; four grandchildren: Amanda Flippo, Zachary Flippo, Brittani Rogers and husband Kenny and Taylor Flippo and wife Emily.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, July 10, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 11. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
