Ethelene H. Eaton
March 6, 1928 — June 18, 2009
Mrs. Ethelene H Eaton, 81 of Lewistown, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 18th at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Henry Eaton whom she married on October 18, 1947.
Born in Hansonville, MD on March 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Viola C. (Ramsburg) and Paul E. Harper. Ethelene began her working career as an Avon sales lady, she went on to work at the cosmetic counter at Drug Fair in Frederick, and finally worked for the state of Maryland at the Information Center in Emittsburg.
A member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church, she was active in the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary.
Besides her husband survivors include her two sons, James Coleman Eaton and wife Sooki of Silver Spring, and Dennis Lee Eaton and wife Sharon of Lewistown; a granddaughter, Sarah Michelle Kuhn and husband Jeffrey of Lewistown; four sisters, Wilheminia Stone and husband Bruce, Louise Boyer all of Frederick, Emogene Michael and husband Charles of Lewistown, and Shirley McNell and husband Robert of Conway, SC; a brother, Robert E. Harper and wife Celeste of Mountaindale; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her friends at the church and fire department and a her special friend, Mary Smith of Frederick.
Ethelene was preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Megan Lynn and Amy Lynn Eaton, a sister, Erma Schultz and a brother, Walter Johnson Harper.
Friends are asked to join the family immediately following the services for a luncheon and a time of fellowship at the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD.
Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 22nd at 11:00 AM with Rev. Elza Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
