Ethel "Diddie" Miskell

Ethel Irene "Diddie" (Burgan) Miskell, 89, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born on February 28, 1926, in Antietam Furnace, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Otho and Hattie Virginia (McCoy) Burgan.
Diddie is survived by many nieces and nephews, although she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her husband, Jesse L. Miskell, preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl B. Johnson in 1969; three sisters, Leoda Crampton, Mary Shaw, and Alice Lohman; and four brothers, Lester, Richard, Garvin, and Everett Burgan.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Ernest E. Witmer will officiate. Immediately following the service, Diddie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
