Eston H. Hoffman

Eston H. ( Eddie ) Hoffman, 76, of Centreville, MD passed peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 21st 2024. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosemary Hoffman. 

Eddie was born on January 21st, 1948, in Frederick, Maryland, to the late Eston and Mildred Hoffman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Eric (Victoria) Hoffman of Queenstown, Maryland; and the joys of his life, his two granddaughters, Angelina and Elsa Hoffman. Also surviving are three sisters, Judy (Delmar) Baker, Nancy Rice and Pam (Rick) Burke; and one brother, Darryl (June) Hoffman. 

He was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Jane Crummitt and Doris Henry.

Eddie attended Frederick High School after which he joined the Navy and proudly served from 1965-1969, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Eddie owned and operated Hoffmans Community Sales along with family and conducted auctions for 25 years in Frederick and surrounding counties. He retired to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where he earned his real estate appraisal license and worked in the field until health issues arose. 

His favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR and NHRA and he also loved going to the races with his son. He enjoyed reading novels and traveling. He was a member of Amvets, American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America. 

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, November 29th, at which time funeral services will begin, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Burial will be held at Union Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery, 11109 Daysville Road, Frederick (Libertytown) with military honors.
