Esther Lorraine O'Neal

Esther Lorraine O'Neal , 85, of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Creekside Village/Ravenwood Nursing Care Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald O'Neal, Sr. 

Born on November 27, 1939, in Rohrersville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Ira Wheeler and Oneida Susan (Reeder) Haupt.

Esther loved flowers and gardening, especially her vegetable garden. She enjoyed doing word puzzles and taking walks. Esther was a devoted member at Bethel United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her children Donald L. O'Neal, Jr., (Holly), Samuel E. O'Neal, Rebecca A. Barnhart (Donald), Kimberly M.Chaney (Ronnie); grandchildren, Amanda Castle (Justin), Stephanie Carter, Ashley Shoemaker (Ernie), Dalton O'Neal (Lauren), Kaci O'Neal, Brooke O'Neal, Donald O'Neal, III (Cortney Smith); great-grandchildren, JJ, Grace, Olivia, Faith, Colt, Rylee, Robert, Nova and Enzo; sister Juanita Haupt and brother, Wayne Haupt (Pam). She will also be missed by her dogs Moe and Remi and cat Princess. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Haupt and brothers Donald Haupt, Ira Haupt, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tammy O'Neal. 

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland where a celebration of Esther's life journey will take place at 11 am. Interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro, Maryland.
