Ernest Joseph Karska, 86, of Adamstown, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of his bride of 66 years, Dianne Lee Dameron Karska.
Born on May 14, 1938, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Joseph Karska and Lily Zahn Karska.
Ernie will be remembered for his big heart, loving presence, funny stories, abundant fun facts, and the deep impression he left on all who met him. Also known as Pop or Poppy, he was a pillar of strength for his family and a rock in his community. Although he has left his loved ones with many fond memories to be grateful for, the world will never be as bright a place without him.
Carrying on his legacy of kindness and positivity are his son, David Karska and wife Cathy, daughter, Debbie Bermudez and husband Manny, grandchildren Cheri Abramson and husband Eric, Sean McHugh and wife Alaina, Dennis McHugh, 5 great grandchildren, and his sister Lillian Moore.
To celebrate Ernie's life, a private family gathering will be held in his old stomping grounds of Four Corners, Silver Spring.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of the many dogs he rescued during his lifetime, memorial donations may be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
