Ernest "Ernie" Daniel Printz

Ernest Daniel Printz, Sr., 87, of Frederick, passed from this life on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center with his loving family members by his side.  He was the husband of Gertrude "Trudy" Irene Printz. Born on November 9, 1936, in Hyattstown, he was the son of Kirby Ashby Printz and Elizabeth (Dodson) Printz.

Ernie farmed in his early life, and later held a supervisory position at the Golden Dipt Baking Company (Formerly G & L Baking Company) for several years.  Ernie was a cab driver for City Cab for many years, ending his work career with a position at the Fredericktowne Mall. 

He enjoyed watching old western movies, country music, collecting older model small scale cars and pitching horseshoes.

In addition to his wife, Trudy, he is survived by his children: Ernest Daniel Printz, Jr. (Teresa), Penny Printz, and David Snyder (Sonya), and Jenny Hill (Paul); grandchildren: Ernest Daniel Printz, III, Jeremy Printz, Crystal Printz, Annette Ellison, Lindsey Doerr, Lauren Englehaupt, and Heather Cook (Sean); great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Thomas, Jeremy Jr., Maria, Damien, Deanna, Camila, Garrett, Emma and Ella.  He is also survived by a sister, Rose Early and numerous other extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucy Printz, a son, Earl Lucas; siblings: Lillian, Blanche, Ethel, Maddie, Freda, Thelma, Cletus, Gilbert, Clifton and Leon.

Mr. Printz' family would like to thank Frederick Health Hospice for their compassionate care in Ernie's last days.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27 from 1 to 2 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
