Mr. Eric Frederic Schneider, 39, of Frederick, died on March 11 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. He was the husband of Amelia Rae Pooton-Schneider. Born on December 30, 1977 in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of Siegfried Schneider and Heidi Stingelin.
Eric attended Timothy Christian Elementary and Secondary schools in New Jersey. He was a 1996 graduate of Franklin High School and a graduate of Montgomery College, with an associate degree in Animation Art and design. Mr. Schneider was self employed, owning and operating Bullseye Auto Glass, and was self-studying the craft of wood working.
He was a hockey enthusiast, and specifically rooted for the Washington Capitals. Eric enjoyed roller hockey, and in 2010 founded the "Fredericktowne Roller Hockey Group", a Facebook group bringing together people in and around Frederick to organize pick up inline skate roller hockey games. He was very instrumental in planning many roller hockey tournaments and introducing many hockey players that would later become friends, many of which would not have connected if not for Eric's influence.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Amelia Rae Schnieder as well as Parents-In-Law Ken and Charla Pooton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
