Emory Stotler, Jr.

Emory Clarence Stotler, Jr., 85, of Maugansville, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 26, 2010.

Born on April 5, 1925 in Cool Hollow, Maryland, he was the son of the late Emory C. and Ada May (Thomas) Stotler, Sr.

Emory was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

He had been an employee with Thomas and Sons in Boonsboro and at the Cavetown Planing Mill.  He retired in 1990 from Crafters and Builders in Lake Wales, Florida.

Emory was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro and AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Elizabeth (Smith) Stotler; his daughter, Barbara Jean Mason and her husband Richard of Keedysville, Maryland; his two sons, Clarence L. Stotler and his wife April and James W. Stotler and his wife Marlene, all of Myersville, Maryland; and his sister Evelyn E. Kline of Hagerstown.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060.
